Cowes Week is one of the largest yachting regattas in the world, it’s been running since 1826 and now attracts over 1000 yachts and up to 8000 racers from all over the world. Racing takes place on the Solent, which is a challenging stretch of water between the Isle of Wight and the ‘North Island’ as the locals call the mainland.
Cowes Week is hosted under the Cowes Combined Clubs organisation which means that the event is run by all the yachts clubs here in Cowes which take it in turns to run the daily races. Running over 7 days, this regatta is full on with some fantastic après sail activities culminating in the famous Cowes Week Fireworks on the last Friday.

Cowes Week campaign is based out of Cowes Yacht Haven in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. There is usually one race per day lasting around 4 to 6 hours and most racing utilises the many laid race marks around the Solent itself.
Like most yacht racing events, this will include yacht race training, on the Friday before the Cowes Week regatta starts, to bring the crew together and to get the most out of the racing.
We’ve been racing in Cowes Week for over 10 years and its right on our doorstep. It’s a challenging regatta with strong tides, interesting race courses that you just don’t get in other regattas and really good shoreside activities with something for everyone
